At the moment you may see a hilarious puppets face (Trekkie Monster), mouth full open as if to scream, on banners and flags in and around the Melbourne CBD. Though it may first appear to be something for the kids, Avenue Q is a strictly adults only puppet and human show. With songs and lyric not for the easily offended, the show has had audiences rolling around in laughter and tearing at the eyes from Broadway New York to the West End of London and now here at the Comedy Theatre Melbourne. Dralion by Circque du Soleil 

Be mesmerized by the type of show that only Circque du Soleil has become famous for with its Chinese origins combined with a spectacular avant-garde approach and mind bending acrobatics. This theme is reflected in the name itself, Dralion, which are half dragon from the east and half lion from the west.

Wicked Wicked – The Broadway Musical

The never before told story of the witches of Oz, “Wicked” is the prequel to the classic story, “The Wizard of Oz”. It explains much of why the characters in the Wizard of Oz are the way they are. Why the “Witch of the West” is wicked and “Glenda” the good witch, where the slipper came from and why the lion has no courage. Students from the Melbourne school of design are spending the week constructing an impressive cardboard world to showcase the use and cosmetics of this otherwise humble material. So come and admire the construction and design, also a great way to inspire a child’s imagination.

Ignite Winter’s Eve Party 

This Saturday night docklands erupts in a fireball of light and entertainment to usher in winter 2009.  A diverse range of entertainers, music and illuminated boats will excite all ages with a harbour fireworks display to top off the evening. Docklands has become the place to be for fireworks in the CBD, always a spectacular site to see fireworks mirrored in the harbour waters. The night kicks of 2 weeks of the “Ignite” winter festival that will be held Thursday to Sunday at the docklands from 6:30pm.

There was a great deal of anticipation for this new addition to the star wars trilogy which is reflected well in this movie. Koorie Walkin’ Birrarung – Yarra River Cultural Tour
